Installing Playa on ExpressionEngine 2.x

Prerequisites

Make sure your system meets the minimum requirements:

• ExpressionEngine 2.1.3 or later
• PHP 5

Installation Instructions

1. Upload the ee2/third_party/playa folder to system/expressionengine/third_party/
2. Upload the themes/third_party/playa folder to themes/third_party/
3. Install the fieldtype in Add-Ons → Fieldtypes
4. While installing, choose to install the module and extension as well
5. Click the “Enable Extensions?” button at the top of Add-Ons → Extensions if you haven’t already

Adding a Playa Field to the Publish Page

Once Playa is installed, you can add a Playa field to the Publish Page by following these steps:

1. Go to Admin → Channel Administration → Custom Fields
2. Click the “Add/Edit Custom Fields” link beside your field group
3. Click the “Create a New Custom Field” button
4. Give the new field a name and a label, and choose “Playa” in the Field Type dropdown
5. Configure the Playa field to suit your needs
6. Click the Submit button
