Playa 3 Released

Posted by Brandon Kelly on Apr 12, 2010

Today we released a major update to Playa, everyone’s favorite relationship counselor!

Here are the big new features:

EE2 Compatibility

Playa 3 works seamlessly in the ExpressionEngine 2 Public Beta, making it our second EE2 offering.

New UI

We’ve redesigned and reengineered Playa’s Drop Panes UI from the ground up, simplifying its appearance and making it a ton of fun to use!

Huge Performance Improvements

Performance was a major focus for this release. You can now use Playa on large-scale sites with thousands of entries without worrying about slow Control Panel load times.

Best part? If you already own a Playa site license, Playa 3 is a free upgrade! So what are you waiting for? Go grab a copy!

You have outdone yourself Brandon! Finally includes those pre-filter features I’ve been begging for and man, am I happy!

Going off on your own doing EE dev full-time has truly paid off for your customers.

Thank you!

Awesome work Brandon! Playa is one of my favorite features and you just keep making it even better.

Really glad you were able to become a full-time EE dev. It’s obviously significantly beneficial to the ee community,(and hopefully your wallet).

Thanks again!

Hi Brandon - what a worthwhile upgrade; have installed Playa 3 on a new build and it’s absolutely fantastic; faster + more streamlined than it’s predecessor. Very glad you struck out with P&T. Can’t wait for Matric for EE2!

This is great news. I’m adding it to my EE 2.0 installation as we speak.
