The Pixel & Tonic
Posted by Brandon Kelly on May 21, 2010
Let’s face it: you can’t name your company “Pixel & Tonic” and not have a drink named after it.
So we’ve been hard at work figuring out just what a Pixel & Tonic is made of. It’s been a true labor of love, and today, we’re excited to share our findings with you!
The big challenge was deciding what a “pixel” is, when referring to drinks.
Well, what is a pixel made up of? Red, Green, and Blue lights.
RGB.
So we set out to find three things, beginning with R, G, and B, that would go well together, along with tonic water, and look handsome when garnished with a lemon.
After some trial and error, we came up with Red Bull, Gin, and Bitters.
RGB.
Without further ado, here’s the official recipe. Enjoy!
Ingredients
- 2 parts Gin
- 1 part Red Bull
- 1 part Tonic Water
- a dash of Bitters
Mixing Instructions
Build over ice in a highball glass. Stir and garnish with a lemon wedge.

Not shabby.
When are you coming out with the WYGWAM drink?

So what you’re saying is Pixel & Tonic is a 17 year old high school girl driving daddy’s ‘vette to the Frat house to meet more “mature” men?
Or some guy named Chazz?

We have a signature drink, too! But it’s much girlie-r. Girlier? Girly-er? Whatever. It’s a chick drink.
I’ll have to give this a go. This sounds like a winning combo. I like the bitters inclusion, too. Give it a little somethin’. Mmm…

I prefer a quad americano by day, vodka grapefruit by night. But if you are buying, i’ll give it a whirl!

Nice, I’ll be giving this a go!
More debs should have their own cocktails :D

A codemonkey drink with Red Bull? Say it ain’t so! :-0
Am I admitting to being a total lose to admit I don’t know what “bitters” are? (Of course, there’s always google to find out…)

Go easy on that stuff - look up “red bull death” to find out why. We’d hate to lose you.

But that’s an orange!!!!
All kidding aside, it sounds like a tasty drink.

Close to one of my own favorite drinks. And I’ve tried it with Gin, but it’s not as good - demands Vodka!
